PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Junior forward
Danny Kaufmann (Scotch Plains, NJ) scored the game-winning goal and had four assists to power Johnson & Wales past Western New England 6-4 in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey contest Wednesday night (Jan. 18) at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena.
The Wildcats raised their record to 10-4-2 and stayed unbeaten in the league with a 4-0-1 mark. The Golden Bears slip to 8-7 overall and 3-2 in ECAC play.
Johnson & Wales overcame 4-3 deficit by scoring the final three goals of the game in the third period.

Tony Galante (Buffalo, NY) tied the contest at 4-4 before Kaufmann netted the winning shot just 1:08 later with an assist from senior forward
Jeremiah Ketts (Foristell, MO) who also had a goal and four assists. Junior forward
Jason Pietrasiak (Shrewsbury, MA) added an empty net goal at 18:52.
Trailing 2-0 after the opening period, Western New England knotted the game when freshman
Brandon Stroud (Clarksville, IN) scored at 4:23 of the second period and sophomore forward
Brian Prost (Parma, OH) converted a power play opportunity 36 seconds later. Junior defenseman
Trevor Jewell (Belgrade, MT) put the hosts ahead with a goal at the 8:25 mark.
The Golden Bears started strong in the third period tying the game 3-3 when Stroud fired in his second goal at 6:26. Sophomore forward
Chris Connors (Albany, NY) gave WNE its first lead 43 seconds later.
Junior goalie
Matt Cooper (Perrysburg, OH) compiled 19 saves for Johnson & Wales while sophomore
Eric Sorenson (Fairport, NY) stopped 27 shots for the Golden Bears.
