Host Wentworth pulls away in the third period for a 4-1 victory over Western New England

BOSTON, Mass. – Wentworth scored all of its goals in the third period in taking a 4-1 decision over Western New England in an ECAC Northeast Men's Hockey game Thursday night (Jan. 26) at Matthews Arena.

The Leopards improve to 11-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the league while the Golden Bears are now 9-9 and 4-3 in ECAC play.

Western New England took a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman defenseman Michael Darrar (Monroe Township, NJ) at 17:53 of the opening period. Sophomore forward Dan Monahan (Monroe, NJ) had the assist.

After a scoreless second period, the Leopards tied the game on a goal by senior forward Skylur Jameson (Long Beach, CA) at the 2:33 mark. Skylur's younger brother junior defenseman Shaun Jameson (Long Beach, CA) then notched what proved to be the game-winner at 11:06.

Freshman forward Seric Kapp (Scheafferstown, PA) added an insurance goal three minutes later and freshman forward Kevin Crowe (Galloway, NJ) added an empty net score with 49 seconds left.

Sophomore forward Cameron Gibson (Valencia, CA) contributed two assists while freshman goalie Alex Peck (Kirkland, QU) compiled 27 saves.

Sophomore Eric Sorenson (Fairport, NY) stopped 33 shots for the Golden Bears.
