Western New England honors milestone coaches prior to conference doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England coach Lori Mayhew and Mark Veilleux of Endicott were honored for milestone wins prior to their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) softball doubleheader Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 25).

Mayhew gained her 400th all-time victory against Wisconsin-Stevens (4-2) on March 19 in Clermont, Florida while Veilleux captured his 500th win over Curry (11-0) April 15 in Milton, Massachusetts

Taking part in the event were the team captains (from left), Endicott juniors Nicole Devlin and Byrne Katz, and Western New England seniors Alyssa Obin, Sara Barnes, Sarah Lempicki, and Rachel Wyrwa.

The teams split their twinbill afterwards with the Gulls taking the opener 6-1 and the Golden Bears winning the nightcap 3-2 giving Mayhew (413 wins in 16 years) and Veilleux (504 wins in 18 seasons) a combined 917 victories.
