Box Score BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Host University of New England outscored Western New England 21 to 4 at the free throw line to take a 76-55 Commonwealth Coast Conference women's basketball victory at Harold Alfond Forum on Saturday. The front-running Nor'easters won their seventh-straight to improve to 12-4 on the season, remaining perfect in CCC play at 9-0. The Golden Bears now stand at 8-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference.

Senior tri-captain Emily Savino paced the Golden Bears with a game-high 17 points. Junior Nicole Daly had 12 points and freshman Chelsea Vujs added eight points, seven rebounds and five steals.

Senior Beth Suggs led four UNE players in double figures with 16 points, followed by rookie Sadie DiPierro with a career-tying 13, sophomore Kelly Coleman made all eight of her free throw attempts to finish with 12 and freshman Alanna Vose added 11.

Suggs also grabbed 10 of her game-high 13 rebounds in the first half en route to her fifth consecutive double-double, as UNE held a 33-27 rebounding advantage (13 to 6 on the offensive glass).

Western New England fell just shy of its high-water field goal accuracy mark of the season at 47.0 percent (Dec. 8 vs. Mount Ida) by making 23 of 49 attempts against the Nor'easters for 46.9 percent.

UNE shot only 31.3 percent from the field in the first half, but claimed a 37-28 halftime lead because of 11 second-chance points off of nine offensive rebounds.

The Nor'easters led by double-digits for most of the second half by shooting for a better percentage at .542.
