PAWTUCKET, R.I.--The Western New England University men's hockey team jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Wednesday, but host Johnson & Wales scored four unanswered goals to earn a 4-3 victory in Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast action at Lynch Arena. The Golden Bears drop to 9-13 on the season and 6-5 in the ECAC Northeast. J&W improves to 8-13-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the conference.

Michael Darrar staked Western New England to a 3-0 lead by the middle of the second period.
However, the Wildcats got on the scoreboard 1 minute and 10 seconds after Darrar's power-play marker to make it 3-1 at the midway point of the second.
J&W outshot Western New England 42 to 33, including a 12-7 margin in the third period when the Wildcats scored three times. Danny Kaufman and Justin Decowski had goals 1:32 apart beginning at the 7:30 mark to even the score 3-3 and Josh Obregon netted the game-winner with 4:49 left.
Western New England ended the final 2:11 while on the power-play after Logan McDougall received a 5-minute major hitting from behind penalty and 10-minute game misconduct, but the Golden Bears couldn't get the equalizer to force overtime. A shot from the left face-off dot glanced off the post.
Monahan added an assist on Dore's goal with 31 seconds remaining in the first period for a 2-0 advantage. Junior defenseman
Rance Vukovic and sophomore Andrew Cramer also enjoyed a two-point night with two assists each.
