WENHAM, Mass.--The Western New England University men's tennis team claimed two doubles wins and four singles matches to earn a 6-3 victory Tuesday over Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the GG Scots Brigham Athletic Complex. Western New England (6-8 overall) pulls even in the conference at 3-3, while the Scots drop to 4-11 on the season and 1-4 in the CCC.
Freshman
Andres Otero earned two points for the Golden Bears with a straight-set 6-4, 7-5 victory over Brandon Inkles at No. 3 singles, and then he teamed with fellow first-year
Alexander Sause for a No. 2 doubles triumph over Richie Armand/Brandon Inkles, 8-4.
Sophomore
John Mindek and freshman
Andrew Schnier earned an 8-2 No. 3 doubles win to give the Golden Bears a 2-1 lead heading into singles competition
In singles, Western New England swept spots three through six to dominate the rest of the match which moved indoors after rain moved into the region. Graduate student
Shawn Fitzpatrick bounced back after a tough 7-6 first-set loss to win his No. 4 singles and juniors

Tyler Unwin both won by identical 6-1, 6-2 scores at No. 5 and 6, respectively.
WNE will travel to Salve Regina on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start. The Scots return to Brigham on Thursday to host the CCC's Eastern Nazarene College at 4 p.m.
