BEVERLY, Mass.--The season for the Western New England University men's tennis team came to a close on Saturday with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Endicott College in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship Quarterfinals. The fifth-seeded Golden Bears finish 7-10 overall. With the win, the host Gulls improve to 11-7 as the No. 4 seed travels to top-seed Roger Williams on Wednesday for a semifinal match-up.
Graduate student
Shawn Fitzpatrick and sophomore Peter Nassar lost by only two games at No. 3, but Endicott was able to jump out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles competition.
So according to conference tournament rules, a CCC postseason match is decided by decision as Endicott claimed the final two points at No. 4 and 6 singles.
