WORCESTER, Mass.--Host Assumption College scored twice within a 1-minute, 37-second span in the third period to come from behind and clip the Western New England University men's hockey team, 3-2, on Tuesday evening. Western New England, which was playing its second NCAA Division II opponent in as many nights, falls to 9-7 on the season, while Assumption ups its mark to 3-10-1.

But, in the third period, the Greyhounds scored a pair of goals under 2 minutes apart off the sticks of Paul Amarone and Kyle Zobler, beginning at the 9:25 mark. Zobler's tally came on the power-play.
Goalie Nick Commesso (1-1) and the AC defense made the one-goal lead stand up for the final 8:58 to get the non-league victory.

Tim Carr made 23 saves in the WNE net before being pulled for the final minute in favor of an extra attacker. The Golden Bears, however, were unable to get a shot off to try to get the equalizer and force overtime.
Brandon Bete became the second straight opposing player to score a goal in under 20 seconds after the opening face-off as he found the back of the net in 15 seconds elapsed time for a quick 1-0 advantage.
Western New England had a slim 28-26 shots on goal edge.
The Golden Bears finish the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 6-5 record before ending the regular-season with nine Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast games in a row. After a 10-day layoff to prepare, WNE returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Salve Regina University.
