Top-Seeded Spikers Upset in ECAC New England Semifinals by No. 4 Endicott in Thriller

Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--Western New England University's two-year run as Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Women's Volleyball champions ended on Saturday after fourth-seeded Endicott College upset the No. 1 Golden Bears in a five-set thriller, 25-14, 25-21, 21-25, 21-25, 15-10, in the first semifinal at the Alumni Healthful Living Center. Western New England finishes at 19-13 on the season.

The Gulls (18-17 overall) advanced to the ECAC championship match where No. 2 Salve Regina (23-10) won the title in a sweep, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14.

Senior Kasey Cameron ended her WNE career with a match-high-tying 16 kills and season-best 21 digs. Other Golden Bears in double-digit kills were junior Olivia Lathrop (.326) with 15, junior Kelsey Armstrong (.167) posted 12 and freshman Carly Skibinski (.261) had 11.

Tori McIntyre (.236), Hayley Knapp (.344) and Elise Morgan (.297) paced the Endicott offense with 16,14 and 12 kills, respectively. Setter Alleigh VandeMerkt found the open hitters to the tune of 55 assists.
