BOSTON--Chris Sattler scored two goals 27 seconds apart in the second period to break a 1-1 tie to send host Wentworth to a 4-1 triumph over Western New England in Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast men's ice hockey action at Northeastern University's Walter Brown Arena on Wednesday. The visiting Golden Bears fall to 1-4-1 overall, including 1-3 in the ECAC Northeast, while the Leopards improve to 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in the conference.

Senior Joe Budnick gave WNE an early 1-0 advantage just 4 minutes into the contest. After winning an offensive zone face-off, sophomore Josh Twietmeyer passed the puck along the right side boards to senior captain Brandon Stroud. Stroud fired a shot from the top of the point and Budnick put away the rebound while on the power play.

Wentworth tied the score at one with an unconventional goal from senior defenseman Ben Iwanowski. While shorthanded, Sattler won the defensive zone face-off to senior Beau Burgau. Burgau passed the puck to Iwanowski, who then cleared the puck into the Golden Bears zone. The puck took a few bounces before slipping between the legs of senior goalie Tim Carr (14 saves) to make it a 1-1 game.

The Leopards took the lead for good halfway through the second period with an even-strength goal from Sattler as senior Mike Domsodi picked up the puck on his own blue line and fed Sattler, who skated through several Golden Bear defensemen, and fired a wrist shot from the right circle over Carr's right shoulder to put Wentworth up 2-1 at 10:46. Sattler kept the offense going with his second goal of the game and his fourth of the season only 27 seconds later, icing the victory.

Junior Joel Miller made 26 saves in the win. Freshman Scott Brown played the final 28 minutes and 44 seconds in the WNE goal, stopping eight of nine shots.

Western New England will play its final conference game of the calendar year on Saturday at Salve Regina in Portsmouth, R.I., with opening face-off starting at 4:35 in Abbey Ice Rink. Wentworth travels to Curry for a 4:40 p.m. puck drop.
