SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University women's tennis team was defeated by visiting Roger Williams University, 9-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Volvo Outdoor Courts on Tuesday. The winning Hawks improve to 7-3 overall, including 4-2 in the CCC, while Western New England falls to 5-4 and 2-3.

Joeanna Glantz captured the most games by a Golden Bear during a 6-3, 6-3 defeat at the hands of Kathryn Hughes at No. 2 singles. One ladder below at No. 3, WNE freshman
Christina D'Agostino lost a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Alexandra Brown.
The Golden Bears are back in action on Saturday (2 p.m.) when they travel to Pomfret, Conn., to take on second-place Nichols College in another conference match-up played at the Bison's home courts, Pomfret School.
