POMFRET, Conn.--Host Nichols College swept all three doubles and six singles matches to pin a 9-0 loss on Western New England University in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's tennis action at the Pomfret School on Saturday. The Bison improve to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the CCC, while the Golden Bears fall to the .500-mark (5-5) for the first time since Sep. 6 and they are now 2-4 in the conference.
Sophomore
Corey St. Louis took Daniela Saldarriaga to a super-set tiebreaker at No.5 singles. After dropping the opening frame 6-0, St. Louis roared back to take the second 6-2 before falling by just three points in the third, 10-7.
The Bison have now won the last six head-to-head meetings with the Golden Bears to even the all-time record at 6-6 after dropping the first six.
The Golden Bears host CCC foe Gordon on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Volvo Outdoor Courts. The Bison travel to take on Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
