HARRISVILLE, R.I. (November 14, 2015) - Preseason Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast favorite Nichols College scored five first period goals on its way to an 8-1 win over Western New England University this evening at Levy Rink.
 
Senior Tyler Beasley (Indianapolis, Ind.) led the way for the Bison, registering his first career hat trick, while classmate Frank Butler (East Haven, Conn.) totaled three points on a goal and two assists.
 
Sophomore forward David DiSchiavi (Etobicoke, Ont.) got the Golden Bears on the board with his first goal of the season six minutes into the third period, breaking up Nichols senior goaltender Alex Larson's (Madison, Ala.) shutout bid. Senior Chris Lembo (Southington, Conn.) and freshman Connor Eckenrod (Ebensburg, Pa.) were credited with assists on the play.
 
Senior Austin Keiser (Danwoody, Ga.) and sophomore Scott Brown (Sewickley, Pa.) each saw action between the pipes for the Golden Bears, with Brown making a game-high 33 saves.
 
Western New England (0-5, 0-3 ECAC NE) returns to Smead Arena on Thursday night to host Curry College, while Nichols remains at home on Wednesday for a matchup with Becker College.
