Box Score NEWPORT, R.I.--Visiting Western New England swept the doubles competition en route to an 8-1 victory over Salve Regina in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's tennis action at the Leroy Avenue courts on Tuesday. The Golden Bears improve to 6-5 overall and 3-3 in the CCC, while the Seahawks drop to 2-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

Junior Alexander Sause earned two points by winning his No. 2 doubles match with classmate Adam Zimmerman and then defeating Jack Lawlor 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Seniors Chris Spear, Greg Tischofer and junior Andres Otero also won two matches this afternoon.

Senior Peter LeFrancois cruised past Kevin Brocks at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Will Masse defeated Zimmerman 6-3, 6-2, for Salve's only point at No. 5 singles.

Western New England is back in action at noon Saturday against Eastern Nazarene College in a CCC match-up at the Volvo Outdoor Courts.
