HERE.INDIANAPOLIS--The Western New England University softball squad has been named to the first NCAA Division III New England Regional Rankings, which were released on Thursday. The Golden Bears, who are the only Commonwealth Coast Conference representative in the regional poll, are ninth.
The New England rankings include place, school, in-region record and overall mark (as of Tuesday):

Western New England (17-6 overall) currently holds the top spot in the CCC standings at 9-1, holding a one-half game lead over defending conference champion Endicott College (the teams split a doubleheader last weekend in Beverly). The Golden Bears have won five in a row--going into this afternoon's conference twinbill at Curry College--and 15 of their last 17 games.
Western New England will host CCC opponent Salve Regina at noon Saturday at Golden Bear Softball Park for Senior Day.
