BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University women's tennis team improved to 3-0 with a 9-0 victory over Western New England University Tuesday afternoon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match here at the RWU Tennis Courts. The host Hawks improve to 1-2 in CCC matches while Western New England drops to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Hawks began the day with three wins at doubles play, including Julia Akerman/Lauren Schmidt over junior co-captain

At singles, Schmidt moved into sole possession of second place on the RWU all-time singles wins list, picking up her 48th career win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over sophomore
Christina D'Agostino at No. 3.
Western New England hits the courts again on Saturday when the Golden Bears host CCC foe Nichols College at noon Saturday at the Volvo Outdoor Courts.
