Austin Keiser (Danwoody, Ga.) made 53 saves, but Western New England University dropped a 6-0 non-conference decision to Assumption College this evening at Buffone Arena.

Keiser turned back a combined 45 shots over the first two periods as Western New England trailed 3-0, before the Greyhounds pulled away with three goals in the third period. Freshman
Kevin Gollmer (Flourtown, Pa.) saw his first action in net for the Golden Bears, making three saves in just over five minutes between the pipes.

Assumption utilized a balanced offensive attack, with six different players recording goals and six others providing assists. Senior forward
Brandon Bete (Greenfield, Mass.) led the way for the Greyhounds, tallying three points on a goal and two assists, while junior netminder
Nick Commesso (Marshfield, Mass.) registered a 36-save shutout.

Paul Amarone (Hamden, Conn.) opened the scoring 4:12 into the first period, and Assumption struck again 37 seconds later on Bete's fourth goal of the season as the Greyhounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

Tommy Mahoney (Braintree, Mass.) tallied the only goal of the second period to increase Assumption's lead to 3-0, and the home team tacked on three goals in the third.

Western New England (1-11-1, 0-6-0) will look to bounce back on Sunday, when the Golden Bears return home to host SUNY Potsdam at Smead Arena. Assumption (6-6-2, 1-3 NE-10) returns to action next Tuesday at Endicott College.
