BEVERLY, Mass. (April 30, 2016) - The sixth-seeded Western New England University men's tennis team fell to third-seeded Endicott College, 5-0, this afternoon in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament at Endicott's South Campus Tennis Courts.

With the loss, Western New England sees its season come to a close at 8-7 overall and 3-5 in CCC play. The Gulls advance to the CCC semifinals to take on second-seeded Nichols next Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Endicott took a commanding 3-0 lead today with a sweep of doubles play, led off by Sean McAndrews/Nicholas Eherts claiming an 8-3 win over freshman
Drew Berg (Wilbraham, Mass.) and sophomore
Nick Raschilla (East Longmeadow, Mass.) at No. 3.  ÂÂ

Chris Kirkpatrick/Michael Dolph followed with an 8-4 triumph over senior
Andres Otero (Caracas, Venezuela) and
Justin Kohut (South Windsor, Conn.) at No. 1, and Eric Pierce/Keaton McCleary defeated senior
Alexander Sause (Cusago, Italy) and classmate
Chris Spear (Windsor, Conn.) at No. 2.

In singles action, Pierce topped Spear 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 and Kirkpatrick sealed the win for the Gulls with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Otero at No. 1.
