SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 8, 2016) - The Western New England University men's tennis team fell to Gordon College 7-2 this afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Volvo Outdoor Courts.

The Fighting Scots led 2-1 after doubles play, with Western New England's point coming courtesy of seniors
Alexander Sause (Cusago, Italy) and
Chris Spear (Windsor, Conn.). The duo posted an 8-3 triumph over Nate Lookwhy/Peter Godwin at No. 2.

Also victorious for the Golden Bears was sophomore
Kevin Yawgel (Cromwell, Conn.), who earned a hard fought 6-7, 6-0 (10-4) win over Joe Daugherty at No. 6 singles.

Gordon's No. 1 doubles tandem of Zach Hall/Mason Casady edged senior
Andres Otero (Caracas, Venezuela) and freshman
Justin Kohut (South Windsor, Conn.) 8-5, while sophomore
Nick Raschilla (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman
Drew Berg (Wilbraham, Mass.) fell just short to Dougherty/Kristopher Marineau, 8-6 at No. 3.

Western New England (6-2, 2-1 CCC) will look to bounce back on Tuesday at Eastern Nazarene, while Gordon (9-2, 2-0 CCC) is right back in action tomorrow against Wentworth.ÂÂ
