The Colonels maintained their 1-0 lead for the remainder of the opening period, before doubling their advantage with just 4:35 left in the middle frame on Vizzo's ninth of the season.

Just over two minutes later, Henderson made it 3-0 in favor of Curry when he buried a power play goal after being set up by freshman Mic Curran (Arlington, Mass.).

Western New England outshot Curry 9-8 in the third period, but the Golden Bears were unable to break through as Ketola stopped every attempt he faced to secure the shutout.
