Hawks Sweep Golden Bears 9-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 6, 2021) – Women's tennis hosted Roger Williams yesterday afternoon in a conference match where the Hawks won the match 9-0.

Records:

  • Roger Williams: 9-1, 4-1 CCC
  • Western New England: 1-4, 1-4 CCC

How It Happened:

The Golden Bears opened doubles play with Aliza McLeish and Kayla Gibbons at the number one, Jennifer Arling and Hailey MacDonald at the number two and Eiren Klesczewski and Michelle McDermott at the number three. Western New England was unable to gain any momentum against the Hawks and the Hawks won all three doubles matches.

In singles, McLeish was at the number one and after dropping the first set 6-1, she battled back in the second set but came up just short 7-5. The Hawks dominated in the remaining singles matches and took a 9-0 win over the Golden Bears in conference play.
