Box Score WENHAM, Mass. (February 10, 2022) – The Western New England men's basketball team, who is in the midst of seven games in 14 days, drop a CCC game to the hosting Fighting Scots of Gordon College by a final score of 95-53.

How it Happened:
Western New England could never get control of the game on the evening as Gordon College would shoot lights out all night long, burying the Golden Bears early. Alex Sikorski made the game's opening layup to give Western New England the 2-0 lead, followed by a Jake Harrison layup to open the scoring at 4-0 in favor of the visitors. Things looked promising for Western New England, who had already defeated Gordon College on their home floor earlier this season. After a quick timeout, Gordon got themselves right back into the game with three consecutive successful layups. Parker Omslaer would lead the Fighting Scots charge in the opening minutes to get Gordon College back into the game and take their first lead of the game at 6-5. The teams would go back and forth before Gordon's Garrett Sattazahn would get hot from the field, knocking down three point shot after three point shot for the Fighting Scots. Sattazahn would blow open the game for Gordon, leading by as many as 26 points to the end half. Brian Geitner scored 11 first half points for the Golden Bears, leading the way while Sattazahn shot 7-9 from the field, including 5-5 from three-point land to finish the half with 19 total points as the Golden Bears took a 52-26 deficit into the second half.
Things did not get better for Western New England in the second half as they were unsuccessful at stopping the hot shooting from Gordon. The Golden Bears saw the lead continue to extend for the Fighting Scots, getting as large as 42 points. Western New England would have no answers for Gordon, who shot 55% on the night, while also dialing in 11 three-point shots. Western New England would come up unsuccessful on the offensive end of the floor, converting just 17 field goals on 57 shot attempts while knocking down just four three-point shots on 22 attempts. Western New England would fall by a final score of 95-53.
Inside the Arc:
- Brian Geitner led WNE with 15 points on the night, while Jake Harrison scored 12 for the Golden Bears.
- Gordon out rebounded Western New England 46-27 in the contest after WNE had out rebounded their last four opponents handily.
- After scoring 23 points at WNE, Garrett Sattazahn collected a career high 31 points on the night off 11-17 shooting and 7-11 from three-point territory to lead Gordon to victory.
