Men's Ice Hockey Honors Seniors, Drops CCC Contest to Salve Regina

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 12, 2022) – Prior to puck drop the Western New England men's ice hockey team honored their six seniors before dropping a CCC contest to the Seahawks of Salve Regina University.

How it Happened:

  • Damien Dangueuger, Lliam Christiano, Kevin Rodgers, Connor Geshan, Marko Bohatiuk, and Nolan Zweep were all honored prior to the game. 
  • Salve Regina scored the opening 10 goals in the game, including seven in the first period. 
  • Three of the six seniors that were honored tonight had at least one point in the contest. 
  • Salve's Mitch Walinski scored four goals in the contest while adding an assist on eight shots on goal. 
  • Tyler Carangelo tallied three goals and had three assists in the win for the Seahawks, scoring on all three shot attempts. 
  • Both teams won 36 faceoffs in the contest with Geshan and Christiano taking 23 of those wins for the Golden Bears. 
  • Marko Bohatiuk, Connor Geshan, and Shane Miller scored the three goals of the night for the Golden Bears. Geshan, Sam Mitchell, Damien Dangueuger, Demitrios Stefanou, Jacob Ondrejko, and James Belleavoine all had assists for WNE. 
  • The Golden Bears were outshot 45-29 in the contest, while WNE outshot the Seahawks 14-9 in the final period. 
  • Anthony Aureliano made 27 saves while giving up ten goals in the loss. Colten Lancaster saw 7:52 of action, giving up three goals and making five saves. The Golden Bears would drop the contest 13-3.
