Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 27, 2022) – The Western New England men's tennis team fell at home to the visiting Endicott College Gulls on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale, dropping a 9-0 decision from windy Volvo Tennis Courts.
How it Happened:
Western New England fell quickly 3-0 after the doubles round as the Gulls came away with a quick three points to open the match. Nick Bayer and Max Gordon would come to closest to victory, falling in the double's session 8-5 to Janith Madhok and Collin Dinardo. Michael Robichaud and Paul Riccio dropped an 8-2 decision to Julian Richtarich and Oliver Pope, while Casey VanDenBoscche and Brandon Greger would fall in straight sets to George Danes and Hudson De Risi to end the double's session.
Bayer would put up a fight in the first set of the singles round, dropping a 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 decision to Rinkert. Greger would also fight for WNE in the opening set of singles, though ultimately falling short by a 7-5, 6-0 score. Kevin Sharpe would also compete in singles play for the Golden Bears, dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision to George Danes.
