Men's Tennis Falls to Endicott in CCC Quarterfinals

BEVERLY, Mass. (April 30, 2022) – The Western New England #6 seed men's tennis team lost in the CCC Quarterfinal match against the #3 seed Endicott College Gulls 5-0 to conclude their 2022 season.

Records:

  • Western New England: 6-8, 3-5 CCC
  • Endicott College: 10-10, 6-2 CCC

How it Happened: The Golden Bears fell to the Gulls in the doubles 3-0 to start the match. Nick Bayer and Max Gordon had the closes doubles but took the loss at 8-3 to the Gulls Brennan Nick and Daniel Rinkert. Sebastian Smreczak and Michael Robichaud dropped to Janith Madhok and Collin Dinardo 8-1. Brandon Greger and Casey VanDenBossche had the final doubles loss at an 8-2 decision against Julian Richtarich and Oliver Pope.

The singles only needed two match ups to decide the match. Paul Riccio's opponent George Danes took a 6-0, 6-0 victory to give the Gulls a 4-0 match. Endicott clinched the match at the number 4. Robichaud fell to Oliver Pope 6-0, 6-1 in an hour and 58-minute match. The other singles were unfinished with majority of them the Gulls led in. The Golden Bears faced a 5-0 loss to end their season.
