Men’s Golf Competes in Skidmore Invitational

Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (October 8, 2023) - The Men's Golf team traveled to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for the Skidmore Invitational. The team was led by Jeremy Burke and Mike Bluhm, who both put up rounds of 77, which were five strokes over par. The team finished tied for 18th during the invitational.

Place: T-18th/21

How it Happened:

After the first day being canceled due to weather, the Golden Bears were back in action on Sunday for the round of golf. Jeremy Burke finished the round five strokes over par, with a round of 77, and had a birdie during the round. That was the lowest round of the season for Burke so far. Michael Bluhm matched Burke with a round of 77 and one birdie, sitting at +5 after the round. That, too, was Bluhm's best round of the season to this point. Dylan Fortunato shot a round of 78 during the invitational today. That score sat six strokes above par and was the best round of the season for Fortunato. Fortunato tallied four total birdies on the day. Robert DeFeo and Ryan Schlehuber shot a round of 79, seven strokes above par. DeFeo tallied two birdies and had one of the seven eagles that were made on the course today. Schlehuber had three birdies on the day. The team combined for a score of 311, which was +23, and had the Golden Bears tied for 18th for the invitational.

  • The Golden Bears will return to action next weekend, October 14th and 15th, for the NEIGA Championships, which will be hosted in Brewster, Massachusetts, at The Captains Golf Course.
