SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 21, 2023) – Western New England men's basketball junior forward
Jake Harrison was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week after averaging 29.5 points on the week for Western New England in a 3-0 week.
The junior forward helped Western New England in non-conference action beginning at Eastern Connecticut State University, where
Harrison dropped 26 points on 10/16 shooting while cashing in on three three-point shots while grabbing 13 rebounds, collecting his first double-double of the season while also recording six assists, a block, and two steals.
Harrison followed up the performance by sinking 33 points, which matches his career best, in an 83-63 win over Cortland in the Hampton Inn Holiday Tournament Classic. The South Boston, Massachusetts, native was nearly perfect from the field, shooting 9/10 while cashing in 2/2 three-point shots.
Harrison grabbed eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal for Western New England in the win.
Harrison combined for 40 points in the two-day tournament, being named to the All-Tournament All-Star team.
Through five games this season, the junior forward has averaged just under 20 points per game, shooting just under 60% from the field while averaging 9.4 rebounds per game.
Harrison has 19 assists, seven steals, and three blocks on the season while recording 97 total points on the season.
Harrison joins Steph Baxter Jr. (Babson College), Pal Dak (Minessota-Morris University), Daniel Cook (St. John Fisher), and Trey Barber (Christopher Newport) on the list.
Western New England men's basketball is back in action on Tuesday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m., hosting Worcester State University.
