Springfield, Mass. (November 4, 2023) - The Golden Bears hosted the Endicott College Gulls in the Women's Soccer CCC Championship game. The Gulls scored in the middle of the first half and would keep that 1-0 lead for the rest of the game to secure the CCC Championship and a spot in the NCAA tournament.

How it Happened:
Molly McLaughlin was in net for the Golden Bears, and Rosalina Caliri was in net for the Gulls. The game started, and immediately, Endicott was on the hunt for a goal. Angelina Venditti had a shot go over the net in the 6th minute. Callie Neils had a shot saved by Molly McLaughlin in the 22nd minute. The teams traded the ball back and forth, but it was Endicott holding most of the possession in the Golden Bear half of the field. The 23rd minute saw Callie Neils send a pass to Grace Jewett on the right side of the field. Grace Jewett was able to fight off a defender and send a shot that McLaughlin was able to get a hand on, but the ball would roll into the back of the net to give the Gulls the 1-0 lead early in the championship game. The Golden Bears responded with a Lindsay Reidy shot that was blocked in the 25th minute. Then, Gabrielle Kilndtworth sent a shot wide left of the net in the 27th minute for the Gulls. The Gulls would keep the pressure on the Golden Bears, but no shots would happen for a little while. Klindtworth and Lily Miller would then have back-to-back shots that McLaughlin made saves on. Elizabeth Healy had a shot in the 40th minute that was blocked. The final shot of the half came in the 41st minute when Samantha Klimas sent a shot at McLaughlin that was saved. After one half of play, the Golden Bears were trailing by a score of 1-0. The first-half stat line showed the Golden Bears trailing in shots 8-1, shots on goal 5-0, corner kicks 4-1, and fouls 9-6. The Golden Bears led in saves 4-0.
After the break, the Gulls went back on the attack, keeping the ball in the Golden Bears' defensive side of the field. Ella Morgan had a shot in the 53rd minute that went off the right post. The 56th minute saw Riley Rischitelli have a shot at goal, but McLaughlin made the save. Jordan Paré had a shot blocked in the 57th minute. The Golden Bears kept trying to get opportunities, but the Gulls denied them. Malina LaCapra had a shot go high of the net in the 59th minute. In that same minute, Grace Jewett had a shot saved by McLaughlin. The game continued with WNE trying to find the equalizing goal, but Endicott kept playing the ball in the Golden Bears' defensive half and not letting the Golden Bears break free. Alexandria Dostie had a shot in the 79th minute that McLaughlin saved. Klindtworth then had two shots that missed the net. Healy had a shot go over the net, as well. Jordan Paré had the only shot of the game on goal for the Golden Bears in the 83rd minute. Caliri would make the save, and it would lead the Gulls to a 1-0 win over the Golden Bears and send Endicott to the NCAA tournament by winning the CCC Championship. The final stat line saw Endicott outshoot the Golden Bears 15-4 and had more shots on goal by a count of 8-1. Endicott also had more corner kicks by a score of 6-2. The Golden Bears had more fouls 16-12 and more saves 7-1. The Gulls defeated the Golden Bears by a score of 1-0.
