HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 14, 2023) – The Western New England men's tennis team picked up their first victory of the spring on Tuesday night, defeating the Highlanders of Cairn University by a final score of 8-1. Both Thomas Roche and Yasir Faisal picked up their first collegiate wins in a WNE uniform in the match. 

How it Happened:

The Golden Bears got off to a 3-0 start in doubles play after Nick Bayer and Brandon Greger (8-0), Michael Robichaud and Thomas Roche (8-2), and Paul Riccio and Tyler Macdowall (8-0) collected wins in their respective doubles matches to get the blue and gold started on the right foot early. 

WNE's Nick Bayer would collect a 6-1, 6-2 victory in singles action to pick up his first singles win of the season. Thomas Roche (6-0, 6-4), Michael Robichaud (6-1, 6-0), Paul Riccio (6-1, 6-0), and Yasir Faisal (6-2, 6-0) all collected victories on their singles matches to lead Western New England past Cairn University by a final score of 8-1, picking up their first victory of the season.
