DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (January 12, 2024) - The Western New England men's wrestling team turned out a valiant effort against the nation's 25th-ranked Aggies of Delaware Valley University before coming up short, 37-15, to the Aggies in road dual action.
How it Happened:
Delaware Valley University took the first three matches of the night before the Golden Bears would get on the board in the 149 lb. weight class.
Peter Charnley would take down Delaware Valley's Greg Croce on a pinfall victory in two minutes and five seconds to give Western New England six points on the board.
The Golden Bears would also take the 157 lb. weight class when
Cameron Hines took down Nicholas DeLorenzo on a decision win, winning the match 8-3 to earn three more points for Western New England.
Sean Monteiro would earn the final victory of the dual meet between the Golden Bears and the Aggies, grabbing a late pinfall victory over Hayden Mann in three minutes and 59 seconds to earn a victory in the 165 lb. weight class.
Overall, the Aggies would take seven of the ten matches on the night and would take down the Golden Bears by a final score of 37-15.
