Six From Men’s Wrestling Take NWCA Scholar All-American Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 25, 2026) – Six members of the Western New England men's wrestling team have earned National Wrestling Coaching Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American status, tying a program record set last season. WNE's Maxwell Bluhm, Antonio Intintoli, James Linder, David Lisk, Charles Maloy, and Matthew Rodriguez have been honored. 

Maxwell Bluhm is a Scholar All-American for the first time in his career and had a successful 2025-26 season for the Golden Bears, winning 24 of his 32 matches overall, the second-most victories on the team. Bluhm earned six falls, six major decisions, and six regular decisions, while also coming away with four technical falls for the year. Bluhm placed seventh overall in the 174 lb. weight class at the NCAA Division III Region I Championships, while his season was highlighted by a first-place finish at the Will Abele Invitational in January. 

Antonio Intintoli had much success as a starter in the 133 lb. weight class for the Golden Bears this past season, winning 21 of his 30 matches on the year. Intintoli pulled out six wins via fall, five major decisions as well as five decisions, and added three technical fall wins to his resume in his sophomore campaign. Intintoli won the 133 lb. weight class at the Will Abele Invitational and went 2-2 at the NCAA Region I Championships this past year. 

James Linder also pulled out 21 victories for the Golden Bears in 2025-26 and is named a NWCA Scholar All-American for the second straight season. Linder grabbed a team-high 12 decision wins, four more than the second-most on the team, while also coming away with three major decisions, three technical falls, and two falls for the season. Linder finished sixth overall in the NCAA Division III Region I Championships this season, picking up four wins overall at the event. 

David Lisk takes Scholar All-American honors for the second time in his career and led the Golden Bears with 27 victories on the season over 36 total matches. Lisk earned a team-high ten fall wins for the season and also added six decisions, five technical falls, and three major decisions for the season. Lisk won five of his six matches in his final event of the season at the NEWA Futures Tournament and won nine of his last ten matches during the year.

Graduate Student Charles Maloy takes Scholar All-American status for the second time in his career. Maloy ranked first in the 197 lb. weight class to begin the season in the region and won 19 matches on the year, including eight fall victories, second-most on the team, and added six decisions, two technical falls, and two major decisions to his resume to round out his career in Blue and Gold. Maloy finished the NCAA Region I Championships in seventh place to cap off his career. 

Matthew Rodriguez had an impressive season on the mat and earned Scholar All-American status for the first time in his young career. The WNE sophomore went 22-12 on the mat in 2025-26, earning eight wins via decision, six falls, four major decisions, and two technical falls. Rodriguez had a strong finish to the season, sweeping the USM Quads, going 3-0 on the mat, while earning a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Region I Championships. 

The Golden Bears secured a 10-4 record in dual action during the season and took eighth place out of 19 teams at the NCAA Region I Championships.
