Men’s Wrestling Drops Plymouth State at Trinity Quads

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (February 3, 2024) – The Western New England men's wrestling team came away with one win of three matches in Saturday's Trinity Quads, taking down Plymouth State University before falling to the University of Southern Maine and the hosting Bantams of Trinity (Conn.) University. 

How it Happened (vs. Plymouth State):
Nine of the ten matches against the Panthers would fall the Golden Bears away for the second straight weekend after WNE defeated PSU a week ago at the RWU Quads. The Golden Bears would sink Plymouth in seven matches while taking two forfeit victories at the 141 and 157 lb. weight classes.

How it Happened (vs. Southern Maine)
Western New England would come up short to the Huskies, falling in a close 22-19 battle. Five Golden Bears recorded victories for Western New England, including Austin Monteiro, Cameron Hines, Sean Monteiro, CJ Glaropoulos, and Spencer Dickinson

How it Happened (vs. Trinity College)
The Bantams came away with wins in the first four matches of the afternoon and did not look back, taking the 125, 133, 141, and 149 lb. weight classes to pace themselves ahead 17-0 early. The Golden Bears would not be able to make a comeback on Trinity, seeing just three victories go their way, including one via forfeit.
