March 17, 2024) – The Western New England women's tennis team was taken down in their spring break trip opener on Sunday afternoon to the College of Wooster, as Wooster would come away with an 8-1 win over WNE.

How it Happened:
Wooster would open doubles play with three convincing wins over the Golden Bears, grabbing 8-0, 8-0, and 8-1 wins over the Golden Bears.
Gabrielle Tirkot and
Leina Salomon recorded the lone point in the third doubles position for the Golden Bears.
In singles action,
Jessica Cofrancesco would come up just short in the second set to drop a straight-sets decision, 1-6, 5-7.
Sydney Shepard would battle in both sets of the fourth singles match, going to a tiebreak in the first set, falling 6-7 (5-7) and 4-6 in the second set.
Leina Salomon won the only match of the afternoon for
the Golden Bears, grabbing a win via retirement to earn WNE's lone point on the afternoon.
