BOSTON, Mass. (March 30, 2024) – Western New England senior attack
Ally Ferraro put together a career afternoon in Saturday's stomping of Wentworth Institute of Technology, defeating the hosting Leopards by a final score of 19-1.
Ferraro notched three goals and eight assists on the afternoon.

How it Happened:
Western New England brought their offense early and often to Saturday's CCC contest at Wentworth, scoring 12 goals in the opening quarter.
Ally Ferraro got the scoring started for the Golden Bears with her 15
th of the season on an assist from
Mia Celentano, giving the Golden Bears the lead. Western New England would continue scoring goals when
Celentanoand
Ella Henry would go back-to-back, giving the Golden Bears a 3-0 lead.
Ferraro, Henry, and
Celentano would score in quick succession, being no match for the Leopards and getting Western New England out to a 6-0 lead. The scoring would continue as Wentworth would continue to turn the ball over on their offensive attack, with the Golden Bears would take advantage of those turnovers, leading to five more goals to cap off an explosive first quarter.
Celentano, Henry, Mariella Biceliga, and
Lyndsey Bunnell would all get in on the scoring party late in the first quarter, giving the Golden Bears a 12-0 lead at the end of the first 15 minutes of play. WNE outshot Wentworth 16-4 in the first frame.
Riley Franzo came away with three saves for the Golden Bears in the opening quarter.
Western New England would continue to score to open the second quarter when
Ferraro was on the board for the third time in the afternoon while
Abbey Francis netted her fourth goal of the season, giving Western New England a 14-0 lead. Wentworth would hold the Golden Bears at bay until the end of the second quarter, when the Golden Bears threw two more shots into the back of the net when
Lina Eves and
Megan Spedaliere scored their first goals of the contest, giving Western New England a 16-0 lead at halftime. Western New England took the only five shots on the second quarter, while Wentworth's offense was charged with six turnovers and went 1/5 on clear attempts.
Western New England would add two more goals in the third quarter when
Allie Cyr scored her second and third goals of the season, giving Western New England an 18-0 lead at the end of the third quarter. WNE would use all four of their rostered goalies on Saturday, seeing
Fiona Dean tend the twine for WNE in the third, making one save. The Golden Bears outshot Wentworth 4-2 in the third quarter and scooped four of the seven ground balls seen.
The Leopards came away with their first and only goal of the contest on a free-position attempt when Kiki Dempsey found the back of the net for her second goal of the season. WNE's
Emily Picolla would tend twine for the final 15 minutes of the game, ending the game with three saves.
Alexa Paoli added Western New England's final goal in the fourth quarter, scoring her first goal of the season with 3:28 to play, which ended up being the final goal of the game as Western New England would take down Wentworth by a final score of 19-1.
