Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (March 9, 2024) – The Western New England women's tennis team returned to the court on Saturday morning at Mount Holyoke College, where the pesky Lyons came away with a 9-0 win over the Golden Bears.

How it Happened:
The Golden Bears would get behind quickly in doubles action after seeing the Lyons take care of Western New England in quick succession.
Gabrielle Tirkot and
Dani Martinez would fall in the third doubles spot by an 8-2 count.
The Lyons would come away with all six wins in singles action, taking all six matches in straight sets.
Tirkot would
come away with the loss, though she would come away with four points in the second set against MHC's Kate Vera, falling 2-6, 4-6. Martinez would also fall by the same score in the sixth singles spot, falling to Kennedy Bagley-Fother. This is the third time in the two program histories in which they have met, with Mount Holyoke taking all three matches. This is the first time the two programs have met since the 2007 season, when the Lyons came away with an 8-1 victory.
