WENHAM, Mass. (April 17, 2024) – The Western New England men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision on Wednesday afternoon to the Fighting Scots of Gordon College, falling in conference action.
How it Happened:
Western New England would drop all three matches in doubles action, though two of the three matches came around with the Golden Bears scoring four points in the match.
Nick Bayer and
Brandon Greger would drop an 8-4 decision in the top doubles spot for Western New England, while
Kyle Poccia and
Thomas Roche would fall by the same score in the third doubles spot.
In singles action, the Fighting Scots would sweep the Golden Bears in straight sets, with none of the six matches going the distance.
Nick Bayer,
Kyle Poccia, and
Nolan Jermain would grab three points each in their opening set, though would fall in the second set to the Fighting Scots.
Henry Runyan would compete hard in
the fourth singles spot for the Golden Bears, though would see Gordon's Larson Benthem come away with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
