SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (September 17, 2024) – The Western New England women's tennis team dropped their first ever Conference of New England (CNE) match on Tuesday, falling to Curry College for the first time since 2013.

- Western New England: 2-1, 0-1 CNE
- Curry College: 2-5, 1-0 CNE
How it Happened:
Western New England was not as successful in singles action as they have been in their first two matches of the season. Four of the six singles matches would go with distance, with both Curry and Western New England splitting the four.
Emma Miller would collect a 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 victory in the top singles spot for the Golden Bears. The reigning CNE Player of the Week would get Western New England off to a good start, though singles two, three, four, and five for WNE would faulter.
Kayla Ledoux would prevail in a three-set match with Curry's Kaitlyn Foster, picking up a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory in the sixth singles spot, giving the Golden Bears two out of a possible six points in singles action.
The doubles team of
Catie Seklecki and
Sydney Shepard would fall in the top doubles spot 6-4, while
Miller and Gianna Arace would drop a close contest in the second doubles spot, 7-5, clinching Curry the doubles spot victory. Despite the loss, Western New England's
Yasmine Giacalone and
Kelsey Wyse would collect a 6-2 victory in the third doubles spot.
The Golden Bears fall to Curry for the first time since October 5, 2013, having won nine matches in a row over the Colonels.

- "There were three players who came back from one set down to force a third set. And our number one pulled off a three set win after dropping the second set. These are all positives we can build on," said Head Coach Patrick Roche following the conference loss.
