WENHAM, Mass. (September 27, 2024) – After being rained out last weekend, the Western New England women's tennis team traveled to Gordon College on Friday afternoon and was defeated by the pesky Fighting Scots, 7-0.

- Gordon College: 3-1, 2-0 CNE
How it Happened:
The Golden Bears would nearly come away with their first victory in the top doubles spot as
Sydney Shepard and
Malina Dinis would fall just short to Gordon's Serena Ross and Makayla Otey to drop the opening doubles pairing, 6-4.
Kelsey Wyse and
Leina Salomon would also fall just short in the third doubles spot, dropping a 6-3 contest to the Fighting Scots, who recorded the first doubles point of the match.
In singles action, the Fighting Scots would top the Golden Bears in straight sets in all six singles spots.
Malina Dinis would fall 6-4, 6-3 in what was the closest match of the six.
Sydney Shepard would reach four points in the second set of the fourth singles spot, though would fall to Amanda Kim, 6-0, 6-4.
Gabrielle Tirkot and
Yasmine Giacalone would battle in the fifth and sixth spots for WNE though would not be able to come away with a victory, falling 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3, 6-1, respectively.
