(October 14, 2025) – The Western New England women's tennis team earned the doubles point on Tuesday afternoon, and then took five of the six singles points to take down the University of Hartford in Conference of New England action, giving the Golden Bears a big 6-1 victory.

How it Happened:
The top two doubles spots went Western New England's way to come up with the early 1-0 lead in the match.
Emma Miller and
Malina Dinis combined to come up with a 6-2 win in the top doubles match over Hartford's Crystal Gallagher and Gabby Carr.
Sydney Shepard and
Lauren Bilodeau then came up with a 7-5 victory in the second doubles spot. After the match was tied at five, the Golden Bear duo earned the final two points of the match to pick up a big victory for the blue and gold, giving Western New England the early lead in the match.
In singles play,
Emma Miller came out with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in the top singles position, earning WNE its second point of the match.
Malina Dinis followed suit for the Golden Bears in the second spot, earning a 6-3, 6-2 victory. In the third singles spot, it would be
Sydney Shepard coming out with another 6-3, 6-2 win for WNE, giving Western New England a 4-0 lead in the match. In the fifth spot,
Kayla Ledoux bumped up and picked up a 6-2, 6-3 victory for the Golden Bears.
Kelsey Wyse wrapped up the victory for WNE in the sixth spot, winning the match 6-1, 6-3. Hartford's lone victory came in a thrilling three-set match in the fourth singles spot as Victalia Deida defeated
Lauren Bilodeau by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 10-7. Despite that, WNE earned its third win of the season and first over the University of Hartford in the first-meeting all-time between the two teams, 6-1.
