Endicott Claims the Contest’s Lone Goal; Defeats WNE 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 15, 2025) – WNE hosted the Gulls of Endicott College on Wednesday in a pivotal CNE midweek matchup. Endicott would find the back of the net once on a Hannah Lord goal, and that would be all they would need to defeat WNE, 1-0, on Suprenant Field.

  • Western New England: 5-5-4 (3-3-1)
  • Endicott College: 7-7-1 (4-3-0)

How it Happened:

First Half:

  • Ainsley Napolitano and Samantha MacCormack started the afternoon's contest in goal for WNE and Endicott.
  • Endicott would maintain much of the possession of the ball in the first half, with WNE winning a few free kicks.
  • Endicott would send pressure at WNE with a few shots, including two from Samantha Klimas, which Napolitano saved.
  • Liza Pinette would answer with a breakaway shot that MacCormack saved.
  • Alyssa McColl also had a shot on goal saved in the 16th minute before Hannah Lord found the back of the net in the 17th minute. Endicott led 1-0.
  • WNE would regain momentum after the goal by keeping possession of the ball longer and taking another shot on goal later in the first half.
  • Victoria Wilson had a shot saved by MacCormack in the 32nd minute before Rhiann Dugan had a shot saved in the 34th minute.
  • After 45 minutes of play, Endicott led 1-0 and had more shots, 9-2, shots on goal, 5-2, corner kicks, 3-0, and both teams had four fouls.

Second Half:

  • The second half started with a 49th-minute Alyssa McColl shot saved by Napolitano.
  • The play went back and forth after that, with neither side able to find a goal-scoring chance until the 66th minute, when Chloe Bauman had a shot saved by Napolitano.
  • Endicott earned a few corner kick chances before Abigail Alicandro had a shot saved by MacCormack in the 76th minute.
  • The teams traded shots, with Endicott testing Napolitano in the 80th minute.
  • WNE had one last chance in the 82nd minute, when Victoria Wilson went for goal off a free kick, but the shot went wide right of the goal.
  • Both teams would garner one more corner kick chance, but the 17th-minute goal would hold, and WNE fell to Endicott, 1-0.

Inside the Lines:

  • Endicott defeated WNE 1-0 on Wednesday.
  • The lone goal of the game came in the 17th minute, when Hannah Lord scored an unassisted goal.
