SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 18, 2025) – The Western New England women's tennis team fell on its home court while celebrating Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 5-2 contest to the Nor'easters of the University of New England.

How it Happened:
Two of the three doubles matches went UNE's way, as the Nor'easters earned the opening point of the match.
Emma Miller and
Sydney Shepard, one of two Golden Bears celebrating Senior Day, fell in the top spot, 6-2.
Malina Dinis and
Lauren Bilodeau dropped a close match, 6-4, giving UNE the opening point. In the third spot, WNE's
Kelsey Wyse and
Gabrielle Tirkot, also celebrating Senior Day, came through for the Golden Bears with a 6-3 victory.
In singles action, UNE claimed wins in the second and third spots quickly, as Nora Hill defeated Dinis, 6-0, 6-1, and Andie Lamontagne defeated Shepard, 6-0, 6-3. The fourth singles spot went WNE's way, as
Lauren Bilodeau pulled out a 7-5, 6-3 victory for the Blue and Gold to put Western New England on the board. In the top spot,
Emma Miller continued her winning ways with a three-set, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 win over Madeline Frank, as WNE then trailed just 3-2 in the match. In the fifth spot,
Yasmine Giacalone's three-set match saw the sophomore fall in a 7-6 (5), 0-6, 3-6 defeat. Tirkot also went three sets but saw Zoe Lambke of UNE come up with the win after taking the third set, 6-1.
The Nor'easters picked up a 5-2 victory over the Golden Bears.
