SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 7, 2025) – The Western New England women's tennis team was outdone by the visiting Fighting Scots of Gordon College on Tuesday afternoon in Conference of New England play from Forest Park Tennis Courts as the 'Scots swept WNE by a final score of 7-0.

- Western New England: 2-7, 2-5 CNE
- Gordon College: 7-2, 6-1 CNE
How it Happened:
Gordon picked up the opening point in doubles play, picking up three wins over the Golden Bears.
Malina Dinis and
Sydney Shepard along with
Yasmine Giacalone and
Kayla Ledoux were swept in the top two doubles pairings while
Lauren Bilodeau and
Kelsey Wyse notched two game victories but were topped in the third doubles spot to fall behind 1-0 early in the match.
Western New England was also swept in singles action as one of the top teams in the Conference of New England standings set down the Golden Bears in order. Dinis earned just one game victory in a 6-1, 6-0 loss in the top singles spot for the Golden Bears. In the second singles spot,
Sydney Shepard fell to Gordon's Chloe Hanley 6-2, 6-1. Both
Lauren Bilodeau and
Yasmine Giacalone were dropped in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 in the third and fourth singles spot.
Kayla Ledoux fell 6-1, 6-2 in the fifth spot while
Kelsey Wyse picked up four games victories in the sixth singles spot, but dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision.

- Head Coach Steven Duquette praised Gordon for their play on Tuesday. "Today, Gordon demonstrated why they are so strong this year. Loads of forehand quality from top singles to fifth singles. Smooth. Hard margin. And well placed to create forced errors without risk."
