Harris Rewrites Records Books, Secures All-Time Receiving Yards Record, 1,000 Yard Season In 63-20 Win Over Nichols

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 15, 2025) – The Western New England football team saw De'Andre Harris come away with a new record in the program's history, breaking the all-time receiving yards record, doing so today on a 75-yard touchdown while also earning a 1,000-yard season following his six-catch, 211 yard night, helping the Golden Bears finish the season in style with a 63-20 victory over the Bison of Nichols College.

Records:
  • Western New England: 6-4, 4-3 CNE
  • Nichols College: 2-8, 2-5 CNE
How it Happened:

First Quarter:
  • Nichols won the opening coin toss of the game and elected to receive. The Bison held the ball for all of 1:30 before an interception from Nichols quarterback Ian Snow to RaShawn Shelton, setting WNE up at the Nichols 12-yard line. De'Andre Harris caught his first pass of the game to start, needing just 49 yards in the game to break the WNE Football all-time receiving yards record, opening the game with the first 11 yards. Matt LaMontagne rushed home the first score of the game while Max LoGrasso picked up the extra point to give WNE a 7-0 lead.
  • The Bison picked up just one first down on their next drive and were forced to punt, while the Golden Bears needed just three plays to see LaMontagne go 50 yards down the field for his second score of the afternoon, giving WNE a 14-0 lead. The next Nichols drive lasted 11 plays and 72 yards, nearing their first score of the game, but a muffed snap and fumble from the Bison allowed Johnny Ferrentino to pick up the ball in the end zone for a touchback, giving the ball back to the Golden Bears with 3:29 remaining in the quarter.
  • History was made on the next drive when De'Andre Harris broke the all-time receiving yards record, doing so in style, catching a pass from Paul Gorry and running to the house for a 75-yard touchdown, breaking Steven Fedorchak's 2,531 yards from 2017-2021 to sit alone at the top of the record books, which gave the Golden Bears a 21-0 lead.
  • WNE wasn't done there, as the defense, including Nick Kolifrath, Maurice Henlon, and Michael Canavatchel, got the Bison off the field quickly to force a punt. The final play of the quarter saw Harris in the end zone with the ball again, this time a 28-yard touchdown pass following a pair of ten-yard rushes from LaMontagne, setting up the graduate student with a score, giving Western New England a 28-0 lead at the end of the frame.
  • Nichols ran 22 plays for 88 yards in the opening frame, while Western New England, which held the ball for just 3:06 of the quarter, ran ten plays for 194 yards in the opening 15 minutes.
Second Quarter:
  • The Bison opened the second quarter with a score when Ian Snow found Kevin Fuoroli Jr. for a two-yard touchdown, putting the Bison on the scoreboard. Western New England responded in just 2:21 with the third rushing touchdown of the afternoon by Matt LaMontagne, this one from 20 yards out, putting the Golden Bears ahead 35-7.
  • The sixth touchdown of the game for Western New England came with five minutes left to play in the quarter when Gorry found De'Andre Harris for a 15-yard touchdown, his third of the afternoon, giving WNE a commanding 42-7 lead. Nichols dropped in a touchdown of their own again before the half could end as the Golden Bears took a 42-14 lead at the break.
  • The frame saw WNE run 13plays for 142 yards while Nichols collected 18 plays for 129 yards.
Third Quarter:
  • The Golden Bears received the opening half kickoff in the second half and completed a six-play, 65-yard drive with a 27-yard touchdown from Gorry to John De Camps, extending Western New England's lead to 49-14. Nichols ran a 15-play, 24-yard play that ate 8:56 of the clock, resulting in no points for the visitors as Austin Pszczolkowski and Michael Canavatchel combined for back-to-back sacks of the Bison quarterback to stop the Nichols offense dead in their tracks.
  • Western New England finished off the third quarter by getting to the Nichols ten-yard line after Kevin Acosta made a 34-yard catch to set up prime field position for another WNE score to begin the fourth.
Fourth Quarter:
  • Matthew McGuire finished off the drive that started in the third quarter into the fourth to cap off a six-play, 57-yard drive, getting into the end zone from seven yards out, giving the Golden Bears a commanding 56-14 lead. Each team had one touchdown left in the final quarter. WNE's came off an Evan Dunker interception that set up a Corey Kilroy rush for a score with 8:28 left to play.
  • Nichols scored on its largest play of the game, a 73-yard touchdown pass from Snow to Canuel, putting 20 points on the board for the Bison, but the Golden Bears ran away with the game early while De'Andre Harris was the star of the afternoon, coming away with six catches for 211 yards, scoring three touchdowns, leading the Golden Bears to a 63-20 victory over Nichols.
Inside the Lines:

  • Paul Gorry was an efficient 15/18 at the QB spot, throwing for a career-high 343 yards and four touchdowns.
  • Matt LaMontagne shined on the ground, running nine times for 110 yards, scoring three more touchdowns to cap off the season.
