BRISTOL, R.I. (December 13, 2025) – The Western New England men's wrestling team traveled to the Scott Viera Open on Saturday morning, hosted by Roger Williams University, seeing three placed in the top four of their respective weight classes.

In the 133 lb. weight class, Western New England's Antonio Intintoli went the distance before falling in the championship match, going 4-1 on the afternoon to take second-place overall. Intintoli started off with a bye in the opening round before defeating Springfield College's Dillon Daukantas on a major decision, picking up a 20-7 win. The quarterfinal round saw the Western New England sophomore earn a technical fall in 2:44, taking down Bridgewater State's Adam Distasio on a 17-2 score, easily advancing into the semifinal round. There, Intintoli picked up an 8-1 decision victory over Roger Williams' Matteo Eagleson to get into the championship match. In the finals bout, Intintoli fell late, being pinned in 6:08 to Springfield's Alex Obrec, finishing out the weight class in second place overall.

At 157 lbs., WNE's David Lisk picked up a technical fall of Springfield College's JT Roden to begin the morning, picking up a 19-3 win in 6:18. Lisk moved into the quarterfinals with another technical fall win, getting a pair of nearfalls in the match before earning the 16-1 win over Roger Williams' Austin Rasmussen, moving into the semifinal round of the weight class. The semifinal round saw Lisk earn a 9-3 decision victory over Green Farms Academy's Jacob Jones, a 9-3 decision win, coming up with a spot in the championship match. The finals saw Lisk compete hard, but ultimately fell by a 7-0 decision to Johnson & Wales University's Vincent Faldetta, taking second overall.

The 165 lb. weight class saw WNE sophomore Colin Carlin pick up a fourth-place finish on the day. After a bye, top-seeded Carlin picked up a fall victory over Roger Williams' Conner Foley in just 1:19, quickly advancing into the quarterfinal round. Carlin opened with the first point in the quarters, but Declan Bligh of Roxbury Latin Institute came up with the upset over Carlin, sending him into the consolation bracket to try and wrestle back into the third-place match. Carlin fought hard to get back into the third-place match, opening with a fall win over Johnson & Wales University's Jayden Lafrenye in 4:38. The consolation round of four took Carlin 1:48 to beat Michael Malfitano of RWU, needing just a quick takeout to get the pin, getting into the third-place match. In the final match of the afternoon, Carlin matched up again with Bligh, who took down Carlin in the quarterfinal round, and did so again in the third/fourth match, this time getting a 10-3 decision win as Carlin came up with a fourth-place finish on the afternoon.
