HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 13, 2025) – Western New England men's tennis came up with their first win of the season on Thursday afternoon after defeating the Lions of Penn State Harrisburg in a close, 4-3 victory.
Quinn Northrop,
Brandon Greger, and
Henry Runyan all won their doubles and singles matches to lead WNE to victory.

How it Happened:
WNE earned the all-important first point of the match, winning two of their three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The second doubles pairing of
Quinn Northrop and
Nolan Jermain defeated Penn State Harrisburg's Clayton Herb and Colin Flack by a final score of 6-2. In the third doubles position, Western New England would also see
Brandon Greger and
Henry Runyan come up with a win, combining for a sweep, 6-0 over John McCarthy and Harris Ahmed.
In singles action, it would be the third, fifth, and sixth positions for the Golden Bears to get the job done.
Quinn Northrop continued to impress on the court for Western New England, taking down PSU's Andrew Schrek on a 6-0, 6-3 score.
Henry Runyan came away with a win also in straight sets, picking up a 6-2, 7-5 win for the Golden Bears. The only singles match to go three sets came in the fifth singles position where
Brandon Greger earned the victory for the Golden Bears to clinch the win, coming up with a 5-7, 6-4, 12-10 victory. Western New England would come up with a 4-3 victory.
