Colin Tabb has collected honors from D3hoops.com as the Region 2 Coach of the Year, while graduate student
Tim Restall has earned All-Region honors from the organization, being placed on the All-Region first team.
Colin Tabb led the Western New England men's basketball team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001 while also leading the Golden Bears to their first win in an NCAA tournament game in program history with their 83-73 victory in the first round of the tournament over Hamilton College. Tabb's Golden Bears advanced to the Sweet-16 round of the tournament before bowing out to fourth-ranked Trinity College. Despite the loss, Tabb guided Western New England to their most successful season in program history, coming away with a 23-7 record overall, capturing the Conference of New England title for the first time in program history since joining the conference in 2007. Tabb's Golden Bears saw two win streaks this season of seven games or more and came away with a 15-3 record overall in conference play, taking the top seed in the conference. In this tenth season at the helm of the Golden Bears men's basketball team, Tabb has accumulated 73 wins over the last three seasons.
Tim Restall continues to earn honors after a historic season for the Golden Bears. Restall had career highs in his final season with Western New England men's basketball, including his 30 games played and 30 starts on the year. Restall also had career highs with 192 made field goals, 94 free throws made, 15 blocks, 30 steals, and 484 points on the year. Restall finishes his career with 1,463 points, which sits eighth overall in Western New England men's basketball history. Restall also finishes his career with 102 games played, making 93 starts, making 584 field goals on 1,074 attempts while grabbing 240 offensive and 573 defensive rebounds, good for 813 rebounds total. The Tolland, Connecticut native dished out 210 assists, had 66 blocks, and picked up 100 steals in his career.
