SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 22, 2025) – The Western New England men's tennis team used a strong start from the beginning in doubles action and never gave the visiting Rams of Suffolk University a chance, coming away with a 6-1 Conference of New England victory on Saturday afternoon for Forest Park Tennis Courts.

How it Happened:
The Golden Bears swept the doubles round to come up with a quick 1-0 lead in the match.
Nick Bayer and
Colby Esposito combined for a 6-1 win in the top spot for Western New England while
Quinn Northrop and
Nolan Jermain would take down the Rams in straight sets in the second doubles position. In the last match, WNE's
Brandon Greger and
Henry Runyan collected a 6-0 win as well, giving the Golden Beas a 1-0 lead after the doubles round.
In singles, the Golden Bears would continue to dominate the Rams, picking up wins in five of six positions to come away with a win in the match. In the top spot, senior
Nick Bayer would drop the first set 3-6 but came away with a 6-1 and 10-6 victory in the second and third sets to come away with a win.
Quinn Northrop would continue to dominate and stay undefeated for Western New England, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Sein Kim.
Brandon Greger would also have no problems in his singles match in the fourth position, picking up a 6-1, 6-0 victory. In the fifth spot,
Nolan Jermain came up with consecutive 6-2, 6-2 wins for the Golden Bears. Lastly,
Henry Runyan would win for Western New England 6-0, 6-2, also staying undefeated in singles action, moving to 3-0 on the year.
With the win, WNE moves to 2-2 on the season and starts conference play with a victory.
