SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 25, 2025) – The Western New England men's tennis team fell on Tuesday afternoon in Conference of New England action from Forest Park Tennis Courts to the visiting Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Leopards snagged the doubles point and came up with four of six singles wins to take down the Golden Bears 5-2.

How it Happened:
Wentworth grabbed the opening point of the match after winning two of three doubles sets to lead 1-0. The duo of
Quinn Northrop and
Nolan Jermain would fall for the first time in doubles action together, a 6-4 decision.
Brandon Greger and
Henry Runyan came away with a victory in the third doubles spot for the Golden Bears over WIT's Niko Rosich and James Weete but the Golden Bears would fall just short of coming up with the doubles point.
In singles action, WNE's
Nick Bayer picked up a win in the top spot, his second straight win in singles action, coming away with a 6-1, 6-3 win for the Golden Bears. In the third singles spot,
Quinn Northrop picked up his fourth win in four matches, coming up with a 6-2, 6-1 victory for the Golden Bears as WNE would storm back for a 2-1 lead in the match following the two wins. From there, Wentworth would claim victories in straight sets in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth positions overall and would overcome the Golden Bears with a 5-2 win. Western New England would fall for the first time in conference play on the season while Wentworth improved to 2-0 overall.
