SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 14, 2025) – The Men's and Women's athletes of the week have been announced for last week's performances by the Conference of New England (CNE) office. They have announced that both Nolan Palmer and Fallon Lynch have received athlete of the week honors for their performances at the "Rage in the Cage" Invitational at the University of Hartford on Sunday, 4/6/2025.
Fallon Lynch receives the Women's Track and Field CNE Rookie of the Week after placing in the top 8 in two individual events and assisting the women's 4x100m relay team with earning a top 3 finish. Lynch ran the 400m race at the "Rage in the Cage" invitational and ran a time of 1:05.88. That placed Lynch in sixth place and helped earn the team three points. The Palmer, Massachusetts native also competed in the 200m race, which saw Lynch place seventh with a time of 28.25. That placement earned two more points for the Golden Bears. Lynch was also one of four runners in the women's4x100m relay that placed third in the "Rage in a Cage" invitational with a time of 52.12. That team earned the Golden Bears six more points for the invitational.
Nolan Palmer won the Men's Track and Field CNE Rookie of the Week after grabbing two top 8 places in two individual events and helping the men's 4x400m relay place fourth in that event. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native ran the 400m race at the "Rage in the Cage" invitational in 51.95. That placed Palmer in third in the event. That earned the Golden Bears six points. The Plymouth South High School graduate also placed top 8 in the 200m race with an eighth-place finish and a time of 23.84. That earned another point for WNE. Then, in the 4x400m relay, Palmer ran the second leg of the race, and the team finished in fourth place with a time of 3:42.93. That gained four points for the Golden Bears.
Fallon Lynch, Nolan Palmer, and the rest of the Golden Bears are back on the track and field on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Willimantic, Connecticut, as they compete in the Bonnie Edmondson Classic at the Mansfield Outdoor Complex.
