SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 14, 2025) – The Western New England men's tennis team came up with a non-conference win on Monday afternoon against the Wolves of Western Connecticut State University by a final score of 6-1, snapping their mini three-match losing streak.

How it Happened:
The Golden Bears took all three doubles matches to come away with the first point of the match.
Quinn Northrop and
Nolan Jermain would move to 2-0 in the top doubles spot on the season, this time defeating West Conn's Aidan Burke and Kevin Tenesca 7-5. The senior duo of
Nick Bayer and
Brandon Greger would link up in the doubles second spot for a victory 6-0 over Henry Gsell and Nicholas Peschier. In the final doubles match of the afternoon, it would be
Henry Runyan and
Kyle Poccia coming up with wins for Western New England over Caleb Harris and Jose Zambrano on a 6-0 win. WNE took a 1-0 match lead.
In singles action, all six matches would last no more than two sets with the Golden Bears coming out on top in five of those six.
Nick Bayer picked up WNE's first win, a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kevin Tenesca. In the fourth singles spot,
Brandon Greger came up with the same score, a 6-2, 6-0 victory to also come away with the win over the Wolves.
Quinn Northrop would snap his singles losing streak with a much-needed 6-3, 6-1 win over Nicholas Peschier.
Kyle Poccia had a 6-4, 7-5 win for WNE in the sixth spot while
Henry Runyan finished off the victory for the Golden Bears with a 6-4, 6-1 win over John Araujo, which helped WNE come up with a 6-1 win over the Wolves in the match.
